Are you anxious and worried about your relationship(s)? It can feel very daunting and even shameful and disloyal to approach a therapist about personal problems in your relationship or the the fact that you aren't in one or find it hard to maintain one. Relationships like many things need nuturing, maintenance and repair. We seek help with other concerns why not with our relationship problems?
Speaking about your concerns aloud with an experienced and empathetic listener can quickly disempower the anxiety so the work of recovery can begin. Relationship therapy can also facilitate couples and individuals to separate from relationships that are no longer working and support negotiation around less conventional relationships. It can be helpful if you are bereaved and struggling with the loss of a loved one or if one partner is suffering from depression.
I work across many cultures, religions, gender, agender identities and sexualities. I also work with relationship problems where there are disabilities, chronic and/or terminal illness, depression, faith and culture conflicts.
Please look at the various sections of my website to see more about the sorts of problems I work with, my training and background, my approach to therapy and how to contact me. I offer all potential clients a free 15-minute phone consultation if they would like to speak to me before booking an appointment for an initial assessment.
Please contact me by phone or email if you have any questions that are not answered here.
For a more extensive list of problems please see 'Problems I work with'.
In person sessions take place in Highgate, London N6. Online sessions via zoom.
I have an eclectic background as you will see from my qualifications. I have worked for many years as a nurse specialist in sexual and reproductive health within the NHS and this led me to relationship therapy. My first profession as an actor gave me a wonderful insight into the study of human behaviour, and an appreciation of individual feelings and emotions. I have been a trainer and supervisor for 'Couple Therapy for Depression at Tavistock Relationships' and a trainer for Relate. I come from an Anglo American background and enjoy working with individuals and couples of different cultural and ethnic backgrounds as this can present additional challenges to relationship work.
